Hilltop Castle World, 50 Castle Hill Rd, Beach Lake, Pennsylvania, is operated by The Hilltop Mansion, LLC. This page explains what this website collects about you, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your information.

What you send us

When you use a form on this site (the contact form, the wedding inquiry, the company retreat inquiry, or Cornelius's "talk to a person" form), we receive what you type: usually your name, email or phone number, your dates, your group size and your message. The forms are delivered to our inbox by email through Web3Forms. We use what you send to answer you and plan your stay, and we keep these emails as ordinary business records.

Cornelius, our chat assistant

Cornelius is an AI assistant. To answer you, your questions and the conversation so far are sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, and processed under its terms. We save each conversation (your questions, his answers, the page you were on and the time) for 90 days so we can see what visitors ask and improve his answers; then it is deleted. We do not save your IP address or browser details with it. When you start a conversation, your first question and the page you asked it on are also sent as an alert to our phone through Pushover. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat.

If you ask Cornelius to put you in touch with a person, the name and phone number or email you give, along with the conversation, are emailed to us and sent as an alert to our phone through Pushover, so we can get back to you. A member of our team can then answer you in the same chat window; those messages are kept with the conversation.

Booking

Booking and payment happen on our booking calendar, hosted by Guesty, not on this site. Guesty's own privacy policy applies there.

Shirts

When you order a shirt from our shop, the wording for your shirt, your sizes and your order go to Shopify, which runs the checkout and takes your payment and shipping details under its own privacy policy, and to Printful, which prints your shirts and ships them to you. We use your wording only to print your shirts.

Visits to this site

While a page of this site is open on your screen, it tells us so every thirty seconds: which page it is, how you arrived (for example from one of our Google ads, a search or Instagram), what kind of device you are using (phone, tablet or computer), and roughly where you are, meaning your town, region and country, which our host Vercel works out from your connection. We do not store your IP address. It also notes whether you pressed "Check dates", asked Cornelius a question, entered a number of guests, bedrooms or beds in our guest finder (and the numbers), or sent one of our forms (which form, not what you wrote). It uses a random number for your browser tab, not a cookie, and nothing that identifies you. We use it to see how the site is used, and we are alerted when someone arrives from one of our ads. The details of a visit are deleted a day after it ends; daily totals are kept for 90 days.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. It sets cookies in your browser. When someone sends the company retreat inquiry, we also tell Google Ads that an inquiry was made, so we can measure our advertising; the contents of your inquiry are not shared with Google. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The chat keeps your conversation in your browser's session storage so it follows you from page to page; it is cleared when you close the tab.

Other services this site uses

The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for security and operation. Our fonts load from Google Fonts and Fontshare, which receive your IP address when they are delivered. Links to maps, Instagram, videos and other websites take you to those services, whose own policies apply.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
